AFCSA CONVENTION REQUIREMENTS:Association by-laws require an annual membership meeting and convention. The Board of Directors set a policy that annual meetings are to be alternated from region to region each year. This means East Coast, Mid America and West Coast on a rotating basis. The reasoning is that the AFCSA wants to promote attendance by as many and a diversity of members at the annual meeting as possible and to make it easier and more economical for members to travel and really enjoy the conventions. This may not always be possible, however, due to absence of chapters or sufficient members in a given area to provide logistical on-site needs or lack of necessary amenities, outside activities or even a lack of interest in a given area for a number of reasons. A convention requirements handbook is available for members who may be interested in hosting an annual meeting. The booklet mandates accessibility considerations in regard to transportation, i.e., airports and highways, sufficient hotel accomodations, meeting facilities, food service, hotel amenities and local tours, points of interest and activities. The booklet lists all the essential elements for a successful convention bid. Click on the following for more on conventions |
