Membership requirements

Regular membership is open to (a) retired officers of the U.S. Customs Service or the predecessor agency, the Bureau of Customs, who served as Customs Agents or Special Agents; (b) Former U.S. Customs Service officers who served a minimum of two years as Customs Agents or Customs Special Agents and the left the employ of the Service under favorable circumstances and are no longer employed by the U.S. Government.

Associate membership is open to (a) Active Special Agents of the Department of Homeland Security who previously served two years or more as U.S. Customs Special Agents; (b) Former U.S. Customs Service Officers who served a minimum of two years as Customs Agents or Customs Special Agents and left the employ of the Customs Service or the predecessor agency, the Bureau of Customs, under favorable circumstances and, at the time of their application, are employed by a Federal Agency not having been transferred to Homeland Security: (c) Spouses of living members and widows or widowers of deceased members; (d) Retired or former full-time employees of the U.S. Customs Service or its predecessor agency, the U.S. Bureau of Customs, who served for a period of at least five years and left the employ of the Customs Service or the Bureau of Customs under favorable circumstances. Associate members are not eligible to vote or hold office but are entitled to all other benefits that may be offered to regular members.
